Truck dispatch · Owner-operators & small fleets

You keep the authority. We run the freight desk.

Ohio Solutions sources and books your loads, negotiates the rate with the broker, clears the carrier paperwork, and sends the rate confirmation to your phone. You decide what you haul.

What we handle

The desk work, so you can keep the wheels turning.

Four things, on every load. None of them require you to sign your operating authority over to anybody.

01

Sourcing & booking

We work the load boards and our broker relationships, then bring you freight that suits your equipment and the direction you want to head.

02

Rate negotiation

We handle the back-and-forth with the broker, so you are not negotiating from the cab of a truck at a fuel stop.

03

Broker paperwork

Carrier packets, setup packets, and the documentation brokers require before they will tender a load to you.

04

Rate confirmations

The rate con reaches your phone with the pickup, the delivery, and the agreed number on it. Nothing to sort out at the dock.

On the road with you

The parts of the job that happen between pickup and delivery, so you are not making calls on a fourteen hour clock.

  • Trip and route planning
  • Broker check calls and updates
  • Permits and oversize paperwork
  • Detention and layover claims
  • Lumper and accessorial disputes
  • Breakdown and recovery support
  • Reload planning before you empty
  • After-hours cover, as an add-on

Back office, if you want it

Priced separately and entirely optional. Take the dispatch on its own and leave the rest, or hand us the paperwork too.

  • Invoicing and billing
  • Factoring submissions
  • Document collection and filing
  • Carrier packet setup with new brokers
  • Load and mileage data entry
  • Weekly settlement statements
  • Insurance certificate handling
  • Compliance and safety file support

Mixed fleetMore than one trailer type worked from one desk.

Who we dispatch for

One truck or fifteen, the desk works the same way.

Owner-operators

You are the driver and the business

You do not have time to work the boards from a fuel stop and drive legal hours. We take the sourcing, the negotiating and the paperwork off you and leave you the decision on every load.

Small fleets

Two to fifteen trucks

Your rate drops as trucks are added, and every truck is planned against the others so you are not deadheading two units into the same market on the same day.

New authority

Freshly granted MC

The hardest six months in trucking. Most brokers want time in business you do not have yet, so we work the ones that will set you up, and we do not charge you extra for being new.

How it works

Three steps, and the first one takes two minutes.

You reach out

Call, text, or leave your details below. If you use the form, an assistant named Sam may call you first to take down your equipment and lanes. Sam is an AI and says so at the start of the call. It exists only to set up the conversation, not to sell you anything.

You speak with a dispatcher

A member of our dispatch team, on the phone. You go through your equipment, the lanes you want to run, and which bracket on our rate table you land in. The number is already published on this page, so there is nothing to be talked into and nothing that changes later.

We start working your truck

We begin sourcing against the lanes you chose and bring you loads as they come up. You approve every load before it is booked. Nothing moves without your say-so.

Pricing

Our rates, in public.

One percentage of the linehaul, charged only on loads we actually book for you. You should be able to work out what we cost before you ever pick up the phone.

Straight talk

Who this is built for.

We would rather say this on a web page than waste a phone call for either of us.

A good fit

  • Running under your own operating authority
  • One to fifteen trucks
  • Reefer, dry van, or flatbed
  • Finding your own freight on the boards and tired of the hours it eats
  • Newly granted authority, starting from a standing stop

Probably not

  • ×Leased on to another carrier. They are already covering this for you
  • ×A larger fleet with in-house dispatch already running well
  • ×Looking for a guaranteed load count or income figure. No dispatcher can honestly promise that, and we will not.

Where we stand

Your authority stays in your name.

We are a dispatch service, not a carrier and not a broker. We do not hold your operating authority, we never run loads under our own number, and we are not a party to your broker contracts. Every load is booked under your MC, and the rate confirmation comes to you.

Owner-operators get cold-called by plenty of outfits that are not real, so check anyone before you commit, us included. Every broker we put in front of you can be looked up in the FMCSA's public SAFER database before you accept the load, and we will wait while you do it.

Questions

The things drivers ask us first.

Does a dispatcher take over my operating authority?
No. We are a dispatch service, not a carrier and not a broker. Every load is booked under your own MC, the rate confirmation is issued to you, and you are the party to the broker contract. Your authority never leaves your name.
What does it cost?
4.5% of the linehaul for a single truck, dropping as you add trucks. The full table is on this page. There is no setup fee, no monthly minimum, and no surcharge for having new authority.
Do I pay anything up front?
No. We invoice weekly, after the fact, on loads that were booked and delivered. If we do not book you a load, you do not get an invoice. Any dispatcher asking a new carrier for money before a single load moves is worth walking away from.
Can my rate go up later?
Not while the agreement stands. The percentage agreed on your first call is held for the life of the dispatch agreement. If your fleet grows into a lower bracket, the rate moves down, not up.
Do I have to accept every load you find?
No. Nothing is booked until you approve it. You see the broker, the lane, the weight and the number before you say yes, and turning a load down costs you nothing.
Am I locked into a contract?
No long-term commitment and no cancellation penalty. The dispatch agreement can be ended with written notice. We would rather keep your truck because the loads are good than because you are trapped.
My authority is brand new. Will you still take me?
Yes, and at the same rate as everybody else. Most brokers want six to twelve months in business before they will set you up, which is exactly why a new carrier needs a desk working the ones that will. We do not add a surcharge for it.
Can I use a dispatcher if I am leased on to a carrier?
Usually not, and we will tell you so on the call rather than take your money. If you are leased on, that carrier is already sourcing your freight. Dispatch makes sense once you are running under your own authority.
How do I know you are not a scam?
Fair question, and you should ask it of everyone who calls you. We never ask for money before a load moves. We never ask for your authority. Every broker we bring you can be looked up on the FMCSA's public SAFER database before you accept, and we will wait on the line while you do it.

Get started

Tell us what you run.

Seven fields. It reaches our dispatch desk directly, not a marketing list, and we do not sell carrier information.

  • A dispatcher calls you, not a call centre queue.
  • Your rate confirmed for your equipment and fleet size on that call.
  • Nothing to pay to get started, and nothing owed until a load is booked.
  • Ask us to remove your number at any point and we do it on the spot.
